Anyone alive in the 1970s can sing a Steve Miller song or two or three, can probably air-guitar a Steve Miller lick or two. This year’s Santa Cruz Blues Festival will do its best to bring out those fans when the Steve Miller Band headlines the show Memorial Day weekend.

Miller was a central figure on the San Francisco blues scene in the heady 1960s before turning into a huge hitmaker in the’70s with such hits as “Take the Money and Run,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Jet Airliner” and a lot more.

Also coming to the Blues Festival at beautiful Aptos Village Park on May 25 and 26 will be blues giant John Mayall (turning 80 later this year), former Fabulous Thunderbird Jimmie Vaughan, the exciting R&B act Sharon Jones & Dap Kings, plus James Hunter Six, California Honey Drop, Lou Anne Barton & The Tilt-A-Whirl Band, Sonny Landreth, Carolyn Wonderland and lots more.
